Oldest Casino Halls Still Active

With all the new glitzy and glamorous casinos popping up every day, makes one wonder what are some of the oldest casinos that are still open for business today? Gambling has a long and rich history and if you are an avid gambler chances are you would probably love to be able to take a step back in time and see where it all started.   1. Golden Gate Casino- this casino is located in fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada. This casino first opened its doors back in 1906. In 1907 the casino was called Hotel Nevada and then later in the 30’s it was known as Sal Sagev( las Vegas spelled backwards) In 1955 it changed it name to the name it has today. This casino is part of the Freemont street experience and was the first casino to ever feature shrimp cocktail. This casino has been seen in a few films.
  2. Grand Casino- this is also known as the Monte Carlo Casino located in France. This casino was opened in 1856 and is still open and active today. This casino is the casino from the James bond film called Casino Royale. One step inside this casino you will feel as if you have stepped back in time
  3. Casino Weisbaden- located in Weisbaden, Germany this is one of the oldest’ casinos in the world. The casino first opened in 1771 by a city banker who was given a license to operate the casino. A lot of history has happened here and this casino is still open. Has been shut down numerous times, but today is still open and an active place to gamble at.
  4. Casino di Venezia- if you want to experience the oldest casino in history, that is still operating that is, then visit this one. Located in Venice, Italy this casino first opened in 1638. The casino today still has the façade of the original building and one cannot help but to feel the step back in time when they enter this amazing casino.

Gambling has been around for what feel like ever. As you can see people where enjoying casino games from as far back as the late 1600’s. Take a trip to one of these amazing places and relive the past as  you gamble the night away.
